Your Health Is a Complete Picture

Your health is shaped by many interconnected factors. Hormones, thyroid function, metabolism, medications, sleep, nutrition, stress, and underlying medical conditions can all influence how you feel and function. Changes in one area can affect another, which is why meaningful medical care requires looking beyond a single symptom.

At Hagen Health, medical care begins with understanding you as a whole person. Your symptoms, medical history, medications and supplements, previous diagnoses and treatments, laboratory results, lifestyle, and personal goals all provide important information about your health and what may be contributing to your concerns.

We bring those pieces together to develop a clearer clinical picture. Evaluation and treatment are individualized based on your history, symptoms, and clinical findings and may include laboratory testing, medication management, treatment, and ongoing monitoring.

The goal is to help you understand what is happening with your health, what your options are, and why a particular approach may or may not be appropriate for you. Together, we develop a thoughtful plan that supports your health now and over the long term

SERVICE OVERVIEW

We take the time to connect

Changes in your health often show up in everyday ways: it may be harder to concentrate or stay organized, your energy or sleep may change, your weight may become more difficult to manage, or you may notice changes in your hair, mood, sexual health, or how you feel overall. Fluctuations in focus, vitality, body weight, hair quality, mood, sleep cycles, or hormonal balance frequently arise from multifaceted, intertwined causes rather than one isolated issue. These concerns can be frustrating, particularly when you are not sure what is causing them or where to start.

Medical Care at Hagen Health provides a place to bring those concerns together. We assess your wellness in its entirety. We evaluate and manage Adult ADHD, thyroid concerns, weight and metabolic health, and symptoms that may be related to hormonal changes, including perimenopause, menopause, low testosterone, hair loss, and unwanted hair growth.

Your visit may involve a comprehensive review of your health background and existing medications, a targeted clinical assessment, and relevant diagnostic screenings. We provide education and work with you to create a personalized strategy for treatment, medication oversight, or specialist guidance that prioritizes your unique health objectives.

We offer comprehensive laboratory testing for understanding symptoms, establishing a baseline, guiding treatment, or monitoring your response to care.

We work closely with you and collaborate with other clinicians and specialists to build a highly personalized, flexible strategy for treatment, ongoing medication oversight, or specialized guidance, always prioritizing your unique health objectives and long-term quality of life. The goal is to help you understand what may be happening, determine what deserves attention, and make the next step clear.

TREATMENT SELECTION

Care begins here

The right next step depends on what brings you in. Some concerns require a focused clinical evaluation, while others may involve laboratory testing, medication review, ongoing monitoring, or coordination with other healthcare professionals.

Adult ADHD care begins with a structured evaluation of symptoms, health history, daily function, medications, and other factors that may affect attention. Thyroid concerns may require symptom review, examination, appropriate laboratory testing, and ongoing monitoring. Laboratory testing is ordered and interpreted when clinically indicated as part of an established evaluation or treatment plan.

INDIVIDUALIZED MEDICAL CARE

Symptoms are only one part of your clinical picture

Similar symptoms can have different causes. Sleep, stress, medications, hormone changes, nutritional factors, underlying medical conditions, and other aspects of health may influence how you feel and function.

Evaluation is therefore guided by your history and the concern being addressed rather than by a predetermined set of tests or treatments. When testing is clinically appropriate, results are interpreted in context and used alongside your symptoms, history, examination, and treatment goals to guide the next step.

TREATMENT PLANNING

IN MY OWN WORDS

When symptoms overlap, the whole picture matters.

Concerns such as difficulty with attention, changes in weight or energy, hair loss or new unwanted hair growth, and symptoms associated with perimenopause, menopause, or low testosterone can have more than one contributing factor. Sometimes the explanation is straightforward; other times symptoms overlap or point us toward something that deserves a closer look.

I look at your symptoms together with your medical history, medications, hormone and metabolic factors, and laboratory results when appropriate. My goal is not simply to treat an isolated symptom or order a standard panel of tests. I want to understand what may be contributing, explain what we find, and develop a plan that makes sense for your health and your goals.

— Dr. Elizabeth Hagen, ARNP

PREPARATION + AFTERCARE

Preparing for your visit and what comes next

Preparation depends on the reason for your visit. If laboratory testing may be performed, being well hydrated can make blood collection easier. Follow any specific fasting, medication, or timing instructions provided to you; not all laboratory tests require fasting.

For an Adult ADHD evaluation, complete the questionnaires and forms emailed to you before your appointment. Please also have an up-to-date list of your medications and supplements available and be prepared to discuss your symptoms, health history, sleep, daily function, and any previous evaluation or treatment.

For hormone, metabolic, hair-related, or other medical concerns, bring any relevant recent laboratory results, medication changes, or outside medical information that may help with your evaluation.

After your visit, follow the individualized plan discussed with you. This may include completing laboratory testing, starting or adjusting treatment, monitoring symptoms or medication response, scheduling follow-up, or obtaining additional evaluation or referral when appropriate.

WHAT TO EXPECT

What You Can Expect

01

Step 1 — Getting to know you and your concerns

We begin with your history—including your symptoms, when they started, how they affect you, and what you hope to better understand or improve. We also review your health history, medications, previous treatment, and other relevant factors.

02

Step 2 — Looking at the bigger picture

Your symptoms are considered together rather than in isolation. Depending on the concern, or diagnosis your evaluation may include a focused examination, review of hormone or metabolic factors, ADHD questionnaires, medication review, or comprehensive laboratory testing when clinically appropriate.

03

Step 3 — Developing your health care treatment plan

We review your evaluation findings together to discuss your options and determine the best path forward. Your personalized plan may include targeted treatment, medication management, lifestyle recommendations, follow-up testing, ongoing monitoring, and collaboration with other clinicians or specialists to support your needs.

04

Step 4 — Continuation of care

Your medical care will be a responsive process that begins with a plan that adapts along with you. We monitor your progress through scheduled appointments to track treatment responses, review laboratory results, and refine your care plan to ensure you meet your health goals.

EXPERIENCE + INCLUSIVE CARE

Experience that helps connect symptoms across different areas of health

Dr. Elizabeth Hagen's clinical background spans primary care, nursing, dermatology, hormone health, medical aesthetics, and decades of working closely with patients whose concerns do not always fit neatly into one category. That breadth is particularly useful when evaluating concerns such as changes in attention, energy, weight, hair growth or hair loss, sleep, mood, and hormonal or sexual health.

Rather than looking at each concern in isolation, she considers how symptoms, medications, laboratory findings, hormone and metabolic factors, health history, and lifestyle may intersect. This broader clinical perspective helps identify what deserves further evaluation, what can be managed within Hagen Health, and when involving another healthcare professional or specialist is the better next step.
