IPL Photofacial — Sun Damage & Pigment

About

IPL Photofacial Results

IPL uses selected wavelengths of light to target visible pigment and redness when the skin and concern are appropriate for treatment. A consultation is required because not every brown spot or skin tone should be treated with IPL.

Aftercare

Use gentle skincare, avoid picking or exfoliating treated spots, protect the skin from heat and direct sun, and apply broad-spectrum sunscreen as directed. Contact the clinic for blistering, increasing pain, spreading redness, drainage, or an unexpected pigment change.

IPL Photofacial — Sun Damage & Pigment

Targeted Pigment Treatment

IPL wavelengths are selected to target appropriate superficial pigment while treatment settings are adjusted for skin tone and recent sun exposure.

Not Every Brown Spot Is the Same

A skin evaluation helps distinguish sun spots from melasma, moles, and lesions that require a different approach or medical assessment.

Gradual Clearing

Treated pigment may temporarily darken before flaking or fading. A series may be recommended according to the concern and skin response.

Sun Protection Is Essential

Daily broad-spectrum sunscreen and avoiding tanning help protect results and reduce the risk of post-treatment pigment change.
