Acne Scar and Skin Scar Reduction in Mukilteo, WA

Scar treatment selected for scar type, depth, color, age, location, skin tone, and whether active acne or inflammation is still present.

A PLAN BUILT AROUND YOUR BIOLOGY

Scar Type Determines the Treatment

Indented acne scars, raised scars, red scars, dark marks, surgical scars, and textural irregularity are different problems. I evaluate depth, shape, color, location, age, skin tone, healing history, sun exposure, and whether acne or inflammation is still active.

Many scars respond best to a series or combination plan. The goal is improvement—not a promise that normal skin architecture can be completely restored.

A NOTE FROM ELIZABETH

In My Own Words

I want to be honest about what I see and what a treatment can reasonably change. Scar work is usually gradual. I would rather build a careful series around the actual scar and your healing pattern than sell one aggressive treatment as a complete solution.

TREATMENT OPTIONS

Resurfacing, Microneedling, IPL, and Targeted Care

Depending on the scar, options may include laser or plasma resurfacing, microneedling, IPL for selected redness or pigment, medical skin care, chemical peels, or referral for procedures not provided in the clinic. Active acne is treated before scar remodeling whenever possible.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR TREATMENT

Your Treatment, Explained

How Scar Treatments Create Remodeling

Controlled treatment can stimulate wound-healing signals and collagen remodeling, smooth selected texture, or target persistent redness and pigment. The appropriate depth and energy depend on scar type and skin risk.

CANDIDACY & SAFETY

Is Scar Treatment Appropriate for Your Skin?

Candidacy depends on scar type, active acne or infection, skin tone, sun exposure, history of keloids or abnormal healing, medications, and willingness to follow aftercare. Some raised, tethered, or complex scars require referral.

More aggressive treatment is not automatically better. Excessive energy or poor timing can increase inflammation, pigment change, scarring, or delayed healing.

WHAT TO EXPECT

A process built around your safety and progress

01

Scar and Skin Assessment

We identify scar type, depth, color, activity, skin tone, healing history, prior treatment, and realistic goals.

02

Controlled Treatment Series

The device, depth, settings, interval, and supportive skin care are selected for the specific scar and skin risk.

03

Healing and Reassessment

We allow adequate healing and remodeling before deciding whether to repeat, combine, or change treatment.

TREATMENT GOALS & MONITORING

Your goals, progress, and ongoing care

What We’re Working Toward

The aim is a visible improvement in texture, depth, color, blending, and how light reflects across the scar, while minimizing pigment change and delayed healing.

How We Measure Improvement

Standardized photographs, scar depth and texture, color, skin response, downtime, and your own priorities guide the series. Collagen remodeling continues after the surface has healed.

AFTERCARE & RECOVERY

After Scar-Reduction Treatment

Keep treated skin clean and protected, use only the products recommended for the early healing period, and do not pick at flaking, crusting, or small scabs. Avoid sun exposure, excess heat, friction, and irritating active products until the skin has recovered. Daily broad-spectrum sunscreen is essential because healing skin is more vulnerable to pigment change.

Contact the clinic for increasing pain, blistering, spreading redness, drainage, fever, delayed healing, or a pigment change that concerns you. Recovery time varies by treatment depth and device, so follow the written instructions provided for your specific procedure.
